03/26/2020 Tungol Law Headline News "Tungol Law Operations During COVID-19 Pandemic"
At Tungol Law, we continually strive to work and advocate for our clients’ best interests, especially during these difficult times. With offices in Darien, IL, and Woodbridge, VA, we are closely following and monitoring the latest information from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) website (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html) on COVID-19 , as well as official statements and guidelines from each state where our offices are located.
In Illinois, Gov. JB Pritzker has issued a “stay-at-home” ((https://abc7chicago.com/…/watch-live-pritzker-ann…/6032318/…) order for all Illinois residents in a drastic attempt to limit the spread of COVID-19 in the state. This means that essential services – such as grocery stores, gas stations, and pharmacies – will remain open, but all non-essential business will be forced to stop operating.
Residents will still be able to buy food, obtain medication, go to a hospital or medical office, and take walks outside — carefully observing the social distancing rule of being six feet apart from others.

In Virginia, Gov. Ralph Northam has ordered all schools and non-essential businesses to close (https://www.wtvr.com/…/essential-vs-non-essential-whats-clo…) in an effort to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
While the list of non-essential businesses (https://www.wtvr.com/…/essential-vs-non-essential-whats-clo…) that must close to the public beginning on March 24, 2020, at 11:59 PM EST are exhaustive, the food industry establishments may continue to offer delivery and/or takeout services. There is also a list of essential services (https://www.wtvr.com/…/essential-vs-non-essential-whats-clo…) that will remain open. Some of these businesses, like Kinko’s FedEX, are operating with restrictions: only 10 people at a time inside the store, and shorten hours of business.
Tungol Law remains in operation during this time, especially since the legal needs of our clients do not stop because of this pandemic. However, we are also enforcing restrictions in our operation. Until further notice, our offices remain closed to the public: we will not be receiving any in-person appointments. However, we will continue our telephonic and video conferences. Clients may send us their documents via post mail, courier, and VPN-protected e-mail system.
We thank you for your cooperation and understanding, and we thank you for your continued trust in our legal services. We are in this together, and collectively, we can and will overcome this pandemic.
God bless us all, and God bless America!
